LINDA RONSTADT: The Sound of My Voice is a musical biography of one of the most successful and versatile female singers of the 20th century – and one of the most successful recording artists of all time. At the height of unprecedented success, Ronstadt, a restless and adventurous artist, turned away from pop music to explore an astonishing variety of musical styles, from American standards to country to classical operetta before circling back to her family roots with traditional Mexican canciones. Withstanding constant pressure from a risk-averse industry, Linda insisted on following her musical instincts. Today Ronstadt has Parkinson’s disease and her magnificent singing voice has been silenced. But rather than letting that voice be lost to history, Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of[...]

Longtime drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band invites the audience to create the set list he and his crack four-piece group will play that night – everything from the Beatles to the Stones to Springsteen’s greatest hits. Weinberg, the driving rhythmic force propelling  The E Street Band for 43 years, is also known to millions of fans for his 17 year stint as the bandleader and comedic foil to talk show host Conan O’Brien and is the only musician in history to make the leap from a starring role in one of the world’s iconic rock groups to leading his eponymous band on NBC’s “Late Night” and “The Tonight Show”. And if that wasn’t enough Weinberg managed to do both gigs simultaneously from 1999-2009. The freewheeling, New York bred comic storyteller – who made the list of Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Standups of All Time” – is hotter than ever, a global touring sensation and regular presence on radio and television whose rabid audience, he’s thrilled to note, is filled with “lifetimers.” Once folks see him live, they’re hooked. Breuer estimates that 78% of his fans have seen him “five, six, seven” times. Having evolved both personally and professionally since the beginning, Breuer’s pleased to say he’s been F-word free for ten years and counting.[...]

CRACKED UP 7:00 pm
CRACKED UP @ The Ridgefield Playhouse
Oct 23 @ 7:00 pm
In Cracked Up, director Michelle Esrick’s Award-winning documentary, we witness the impact that childhood trauma can have across a lifetime through the incredibly courageous and personal story of comedian, actor and Saturday Night Live legend Darrell Hammond. Renowned for his impressions of Bill Clinton, Sean Connery and hundreds more, Hammond wowed SNL audiences for a record-breaking 14 seasons. Although Hammond performed brilliantly on live TV, behind the scenes he suffered from debilitating flashbacks, self-injury and addictions, symptoms which were misdiagnosed by over 40 doctors as mental illnesses, including: multiple personality disorder, manic depression and schizophrenia. Not until a suicide attempt that brought Hammond together with Dr. Nabil Kotbi, was he properly diagnosed and treated, unleashing the memories his brain had locked away for over 50 years.[...]

Uprooting Addiction 5:30 pm
Uprooting Addiction @ Warner Theatre
Oct 24 @ 5:30 pm
The United States is suffering a drug and alcohol addiction epidemic. Uprooting Addiction,  (formerly the Recovering Community movie) is an in-production documentary film produced by Hope Payson and Tory Estern Jadow of RC Productions, focusing on how this epidemic is affecting the Northwest Corner of Connecticut. While the Northwest Corner may seem, to some, a pocket of great beauty and tranquility, our communities are affected and devastated by addiction problems like the rest of the country. Our film focuses on the specific and heartfelt stories of people with histories of trauma and addiction. Through interviews and other footage, the viewer is offered a unique window into the hardships and triumphs of an often marginalized, misunderstood, and stigmatized population.
